Octava 4×4 releases HDMI over Cat6 Matrix

JuLy 17, 2009 — Norcoss, Ga. – Octava Inc., specialists in HDMI solutions & UKHDMI Britian’s largest distributor of HDMI Cables, announced the release of the 4×4 Cat5e/6  HDMI Matrix Switch. The 4×4 HDMI Matrix Switch enables users to switch 4 multiple HD sources to 4 HD Displays in any 256 combinations using Cat5E/6 Cable or using HDMI Cables.

Octava latest HDMI Matrix unit combines HDMI Inputs with user selectable HDMI and CAT6 Outputs.

The CAT6 outputs allow you to connect to the matching In-room HDMI + IR Receiver over distances up to 45m using low cost easy to install CAT5e or CAT6 cable with support for signals up to and including 1080p.

Supplied to our UK and Ireland customers with a 240v CE marked power supply these units are ideal for our many customers who own want to share SKY HD, Blu-ray Disc, Freesat, DVD or HD DVD between the main ‘TV’ and a Bedroom, Study or Kitchen TV.

For the Pro installer the Matrix is supplied Inc. Rack Mount lugs and includes an RS232 control port.

Additionally the HDMX44CAT-UK has three installer selectable EDID modes to ensure best compatibly in the most challenging HDMI networks

With integral IR Passthru from each of the In-room Receiver units the HDMX44CAT-UK cuts down on the required number of cables in a multi room installation and minimises the requirement for a costly stand alone in-room IR receiver.
